Cuzco – Incas place to be :)

Podczas naszej wycieczki po Peru spędzamy jeszcze trochę czasu w dawnej stolicy Imperium Inków – historycznego państwa w zachodnich rejonach Ameryki Południowej. Inkowie jednak skończyli się około XVI wieku po pokojowej misji Hiszpańskiej. Piękne miasto jednak pozostało i teraz kusi turystów, aby je odwiedzali i Peruwiańczyków, aby tu przyjeżdżali a następnie ściągali kasę z gringo 🙂 Same miasto a raczej jego centrum nie jest duże, można znaleźć tutaj wiele niedrogich hosteli i restauracji – trzeba jednak pamiętać o obowiązku targowania się! Jest bezpiecznie i turystycznie.
Ciekawostka ze świata Inków: było to takie wypasione Imperium, iż mieli drogi prawie tak dobre jak mają Polacy 5 wieków później. Dlaczego? Posłańcowi, który miał dostarczyc wiadomośc z Cuzco do Quito (ok. 2800 km górami i dolinami) potrzebował około 6 dni – Sztafeta chasquis. Jest to zbliżony lub lepszy wynik do Poczty Polskiej 🙂

During our trip to Peru we spend a little more time in the former capital of the Inca Empire – the historical state in the western regions of South America. The Incas, however, finished their career around the 16th century when the Spanish came with their peacful mission. Beautiful city, however, remained and now attracts tourists to visit it and Peruvians that came here to pull some money from gringos pockets 🙂 The city or rather its center is not that big, you can find here many inexpensive hostels and restaurants – but you must remember to always bargain! It is safe and full of tourists.
Interesting fact from the world of the Incas: it was such a swanky Empire that had the road almost as good as the Poles have five centuries later. Why? Messenger, which had to deliver a message from Cuzco to Quito (approx. 2800 km in mountains and valleys) need for that about 6 days – Chasquis. It is a similar or better result for the Polish Post today 🙂
